So I would put obligations on myself to blog, which became a fail. This time around, at the place I'm at in life now, I'm just ready to share with others about what changes are occurring in my life. I have been so bogged down with work and studies, I haven't been able to think straight! I have taken time this week to think for myself and get things in order around the house. We've painted the hallway and began the kitchen, exchanged refrigerators, and put up Christmas decorations.
I'm so excited about my first Christmas tree!

During Thanksgiving, Forrest (the big little brother) and I traveled to 3 family dinners in one day. As busy as it was, it was so great being able to see everyone and spend some time with our very large family. We even got to take some family photos on the farm.

I'm so blessed to have the family has given to me. We have our ups and downs but we all love each other very much.

With 2.5 weeks of grad school left before graduation, I only have one major project to turn I and I could not be more thrilled!i can't wait to see what the Lord has in store for me in education. Recently I have been looking into art therapy and I'm ready and willing to explore that avenue. Check back in the coming weeks for new recipes, weightloss, and life updates.... 92 lbs to go!

Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-20410530991339793752013-01-27T13:40:00.000-05:002013-01-27T13:42:22.191-05:00100 Days of SchoolI can't believe I have made it to my very first 100th day of teaching! It's been such a crazy, fun year at school. The day started in pajamas, and my lovely mother Dottie came with me to spend the whole day with me at school!

It was so nice to finally introduce her to all of the kids and coworkers that she has heard about all year long. She learned very quickly how busy a school day is. By 9:00 am she was asking when we got to sit down! HA! We spent the whole day together and finished up decorating for the talent show that night.
By the time we left it was time for dinner so we went to The Rookery downtown and completely pigged out...It's gotta happen sometimes right? We had pimento cheese dip for an appetizer, I got this amazing turkey burger with a tomato roumalade, The Walden Greenback.

Dottie had the Little Richard Pattymelt

and both of us had a glass of wine, it was a must. Oh you thought that was it? No I do believe I said we pigged out...right? We finished with this amazing dessert. Some sort of chocolate alamode with pralines and vanilla ice cream. Don't drool....

Sorry the photo is blurred.
We finished the evening with the movie Lovely Bones and were both knocked out from a food coma by 9 pm...Such a wonderful ending to a busy, stressful week. Now to catch up on homework and do some painting! Have a great week!Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-62715268340805898632013-01-23T20:05:00.001-05:002013-01-23T20:33:30.482-05:00Don't falafel, feel fantastic!"Good Evening Y'all!
I was going to only post on weekends but I'm so super excited about this recipe for falafels that literally just made! Check out the full recipe here:
CrockPotFalafel

I did mine a little differently because I got home at 6 pm from decorating at school... And I didn't want to eat at 9:00, so I just cooked mine in the oven instead of the crockpot. I cooked them in muffin tins for about 15-20 mins at 400. AMAZING. End of story. I put tiny amount of olive oil in each muffin tin and drizzled some on the tops (no flipping). Another change I made was draining the chickpeas, cooking them, and then processing them with the mixture. Finally the dill sauce, the store I went to did not carry plain Greek yogurt (I know, right?) so I got fat free sour cream and Miracle Whip (love it) and mixed it with the celery seed and dill to taste.
Just as she mentioned in crockpot blog, it looks like a lot, but it is super easy and fast. 20-25 mins prep and then 15-20 cooking... Can't beat that! Try it and let me know what you think!
Write y'all this weekend!
P.S. Piper was excited about falafel night too! I have new things in my life, in this new blog you will get to see them all! Summer 2012 gave me a wonderful gift! An opportunity to be the writing instructor at a local elementary school. I never knew how much I loved writing until I took this position! It has become my primary focus...Along with Crafts! I am slowly working my way through every single little Pin on Pinterest. I have some new healthy tips and recipes as well! Can't wait to get things started! New post will be made on the weekend so look out!

I remember the days when I just had a giant Nokia that played snake...best game ever. Since I recently left my Blackberry (still one of my favorites) for the iPhone 4, I have been engulfed into a limitless world of Apps. My most favorite thing about the Apps Store is the Health and Fitness section. Who knew there were so many different ways to track your weight, eating, and workouts! So I have compiled my top 5 free favorite apps that can help with weightloss:

5. Fast Food App<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 175px; height: 175px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-a3B1HaIw33I/TtaX7nntpcI/AAAAAAAAANk/lpXaiW_uetw/s200/1794-1-fast-food-calories.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5680895030478087618" />
This little app has a plethora of fast food restaurants and their menu items. They include portion size with nutritional facts. Great for when you are in a rush and HAVE to eat out.

4. Nike+Ipod App<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 178px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-uFf-JHUP6I8/TtaYxLgM-GI/AAAAAAAAANw/xpVAoKvM9GQ/s320/nike-plus.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5680895950643329122" />
Now I have not had the pleasure of using this app because I haven't bought all the gear, but everyone that I know who uses it loves it! The iPhone/iPod syncs your workouts to let you know how many calories you have burned. It seems totally cool and the equipment is definitely on my Wish List for Santa!

3. The Eatery App<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 133px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--c_92uli7N0/TtaZe6NmJGI/AAAAAAAAAN8/LXkNvOSg83M/s200/The-Eatery-13.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5680896736275866722" />
I LOVE THIS APP! It is so much fun! You take a picture of your food and describe it. Then other people rate it on how healthy they think it is, plus you get to rate other people's food as well. It is a whole new way at looking at what is healthy!

2. Fooducate App<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-PZv5hy0vc4E/TtaaM96lR9I/AAAAAAAAAOI/Bdt-R9F5Gds/s200/fooducate1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5680897527543842770" />
Hello easy shopping! I use this thing like crazy in the grocery store. Take a picture of the bar code of whatever you want and it automatically rates it (A-F Scale) and gives you other options that may be better for you!

and drum roll please...
1. My Fitness Pal<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 181px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-lqBKAZumcXo/Ttaa9haGQ_I/AAAAAAAAAOU/RK3O8F2uihU/s200/The-Best-Apps-and-Sites_MyFitnessPal_jpg_e_a917b4a5971209646cc31f87d166202a.jpeg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5680898361704989682" />
This app is my lifeline. Normally I have all of my apps in special little folders..Not this one! It is on my main page, and honestly, so much better on the iPhone than the Blackberry. Recording is so much easier to do. You chose and make your meals, keep up with nutritional intake and work outs. It gets a gold star from me! I love it! Plus, on days that I have killed my battery on the phone, no worries, I just go to http://www.myfitnesspal.com and log it all in there!

There are so many other great apps on the iPhone and other smart phones for tracking weight-loss. Another great workout app is the Abs app! You get your own trainer that communicates through email with you. For recipes, go with All Recipes App, you can select if you wanna watch carbs, go vegan, or totally gorge out! If you have any other apps you wanna suggest, please feel free!Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-22600444748735446142011-08-10T05:38:00.003-04:002011-08-10T05:55:54.853-04:00senior year<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 213px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BMsGo_D9984/TkJVotNML2I/AAAAAAAAANc/NIsRy0awBnE/s320/282098_1929148824659_1120350052_31727011_2257871_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5639163841239330658" />
As I roll over at 5:15 this morning I realize I forgot to set my alarm for 4:30 am.. Which now means I have already messed up my workout for the day. I am seeing that my early morning workouts aren't going to "work out" as I had hoped, being that I have to be in another town for student teaching by 7:30.

So what am I going to do about it? Make a new plan. I've decided that since I don't have time to drive to the gym every morning, so why not do my Biggest Loser DVD in the morning? It's a really great work out and I used to do it all the time. It gives me the extra sleep in the morning and I don't have to waste time driving to the gym. So here is my new schedule:

Monday-Friday: 5:30- Biggest Loser DVD
6:15- Gym (Cardio)
(Throwing in a couple of classes at the gym as well)
Saturday: Gym
Sunday: Outside Cardio

It's going to be a busy year, but I am excited!
Today is my first day with my first graders...My nerves are running on a high! I met most of them last night and they seem wonderful! Graduation is so close I can almost touch it!

Some things may seem silly to others but, well, I am a silly person at heart. Some may be personal things that I have never addressed but need to do so before it’s too late. My list ranges from falling in love to rock climbing…traveling to just staying home. It’s only natural that my list will grow as I mark things off my list and find more things that I would like to do. I intend on doing a lot this summer and continuing on into the fall, maybe taking one item a month. Most things will be done with my friends, but others are things I will have to face alone. I won't do this in any certain order, and the list isn't in any order either...somethings I won't have the opportunity to complete until later in life, however, many I can do now.<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 250px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-vXRflZ2A0JE/Tf-fmbtWUmI/AAAAAAAAAM8/v4pjbXrSa4A/s320/blog.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5620386342603477602" />
So here it is…my 75 wants in life:
1. School has started back for the summer in full swing! I've also got summer camp at the daycare I work at going on! I am currently working on a bucket list (it will be my next entry). So far, it's mostly things that I want to finish in my life time (duh) but I tried to do a lot of things I can do this summer! I'll post the list and then work my way through things bloggling about my experiences! I also want to take suggestions on what numbers to do once I post the list, so feel free to pick once it's up. Look for it next week...titled "Uncharted"Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-53734503040785240282011-05-15T11:45:00.004-04:002011-05-15T11:54:24.485-04:00Comes the Dawn<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 214px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-vFhAPCZquNI/Tc_3KhwSBbI/AAAAAAAAAMg/JssO6yk0HW0/s320/2011%2B262.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5606971821331187122" />
After a While After a while you learn
The subtle difference between
Holding a hand and chaining a soul
And you learn that love doesn't mean leaning
And company doesn't always mean security.

And you begin to learn
That kisses aren't contracts
And presents aren't promises
And you begin to accept your defeats
With your head up and your eyes ahead
With the grace of a woman
Not the grief of a child

And you learn
To build all your roads on today
Because tomorrow's ground is
Too uncertain for plans
And futures have a way
Of falling down in mid flight

After a while you learn
That even sunshine burns if you get too much
So you plant your own garden
And decorate your own soul
Instead of waiting
For someone to bring you flowers

And you learn
That you really can endure
That you are really strong
And you really do have worth

And you learn and you learn
With every good bye you learn.
Veronica A. Kind of lost my inspiration in the gym....well I found it tonight in Zumba class. Me and my work out partner in crime Janea, she's been mentioned before, used to take yoga classes from this amazing yoga instructor at our gym. Well...she started teaching Zumba and we LOVED her class, but haven't been able to go much. Janea mentioned she had a Monday class and we just needed to go...feeling apprehensive, I mumbled a fine...I AM BEYOND GLAD I WENT! It woke me up! Reminded me why I love working out! This instructor has so much energy surrounding her that you just can't help but enjoy her class! We even got to do some yoga moves at the end for stretching...I can't wait to get back in it and do more classes, my body is already sore and I LOVE IT! If you live in the Middle GA area and are looking for a great Zumba instructor I definitely recommend Carol, you can find her on Facebook at Zumba Loving Carol C Johnson, she is truly awesome! Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-3806489111481352122011-05-05T08:45:00.011-04:002011-05-06T14:36:26.926-04:00There is a Change in the wind...Losing six pounds this month, was bittersweet. While I'm glad I went down, it wasn't my goal. It only motivates me to push harder and shoot for my next goal.
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 195px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-_fheMdto9cQ/TcKr5kEgGjI/AAAAAAAAALg/kJgbcSCI3NU/s320/pic.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603229891825769010" />
Finally...I am a senior in college...I NEVER thought this year would come, and what an amazing year it is going to be. I am 23 this year, and I have high hopes. This is the year I will start thinking more seriously about my impending "adulthood". After this year I will be thrown to the wolves as I move out of my mom's house. She has been nothing but gracious and supportive of me in everything I do. I'll meet new people, start new relationships and end old ones. I'll laugh, cry, and love all at once. I will hold onto this last year as one that lacks any responsibility, soaking up each moment of it. Senior year is going to be the time of my life, I'm sure of it. I have the most wonderful friends in the world, who are ALWAYS there when I need them.

There is a Nike Ad that I find myself trying to live by these days:
"Life isn't about keeping score. It's not about how many people call you, and it's not about who you've dated, are dating, or haven't dated at all. it isn't about who you kissed, what sport you play, or which guy or girl likes you. Its not about your shoes or your hair or the color of your skin or where you live or go to school. In fact, its not about grades, money, clothes, or colleges that accept you or not. Life isn't about if you have lots of friends, or if you are alone, and its not about how accepted or unaccepted you are. Life just isn't about that. But life is about who you love. and who you hurt. It's about how you feel about yourself. It's about trust, happiness, and compassion. It's about sticking up for your friends and replacing inner hate with love one else's in a way that could never have been achieved otherwise." - Nike
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-JcU7t45feA8/TcKuLiO8iTI/AAAAAAAAALw/ULKAtKp286A/s200/pic.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603232399593605426" />

As I get older, I see myself changing into this person I have never known before, someone who is stronger than the person she was yesterday. I am finding the things I cared and worried about last year, aren't even on my plate in the present. I am learning that life doesn't pan out the way I thought when I was 12...which at 12, I thought I would be old, married, and have 2 kids and a dog by 25. However, at 23, I don't see those things happening in the next two years, and I couldn't be happier about it. Looking back on the tears that I have shed over the years, I realized they were meant to mold me into the person I am becoming today. Good things come and go, as well as the bad. I see that the real friends, the ones who truly matter, give the best advice. They don't tell you what you want to hear, even though they understand, they tell you what you need to hear (the advice you don't want to know). Marilyn Monroe has one of the best life quotes, that I personally feel, every girl, woman, young lady should live by at least for one time period in their life.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-AO0jMXttcKw/TcKt1kOGPkI/AAAAAAAAALo/O7aQfPdS7Uo/s200/pic.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603232022169796162" />
"This life is what you make it. Not matter what, you're going to mess up sometimes, it's a universal truth. But the good part is you get to decide how you're going to mess it up. Girls will be your friends - they'll act like it anyway. But just remember, some come, some go. The ones that stay with you through everything - they're your true best friends. Don't let go of them. Also remember, sisters make the best friends in the world. As for lovers, well, they'll come and go too. And babe, I hate to say it, most of them - actually pretty much all of them are going to break your heart, but you can't give up because if you give up, you'll never find your soul mate. You'll never find that half who makes you whole and that goes for everything. Just because you fail once, doesn't mean you're gonna fail at everything. Keep trying, hold on, and always, always, always believe in yourself, because if you don't, then who will, sweetie? So keep your head high, keep your chin up, and most importantly, keep smiling, because life's a beautiful thing and there's so much to smile about."
— Marilyn Monroe

I live by this, I couldn't have said it better myself. Anytime I am feeling bad I read this, and I am reminded that I am special and that at the end of the day I have to be happy with myself rather than with others. This year is going to be great, I see so much change coming in my future. I see love, laughter, and life coming at me with full force and a new chapter beginning to be written. I am excited to lose more weight and meet this new Elizabeth that I have never known.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 173px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-xK52yZDCJFg/TcKuZ1iFqMI/AAAAAAAAAL4/5e8-7koon5A/s200/pic.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5603232645292337346" />
"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. The number one thing I hear from people is "I need to be doing what you're doing"....my response "You gotta do what you like". So many times I have "done what others do" and found I didn't like it and gave up. Working out twice a day every day M-R and once on the weekends isn't what everyone wants to do. Eating my 6 meals a day, isn't what everyone is capable of doing. I enjoy the feeling I have when I leave the gym, not always during or before, but after I feel great. So go out, try something new, find what you like and works for you. When I first started this process I sat and wrote down everything that was healthy that I liked, I went from there and began eating that way. Everything in the world was due for school and I didn't get to eat my meals or hit the gym like I wanted to. Felt discouraged and disappointed heading into the weekend, only to be brought back to reality that life is not that bad from my friends. Friends and family brought me an amazing weekend that made me stress free for the first real time all semester. Glad to be back in my normal routine with the gym and eating properly.....and best of all I CAN WEAR WHITE! I know that Stacy and Clinton threw this rule out the door, but my Nana and Mimi raised me southern, and you can NOT wear white before Easter. I have been holding out all season and was so happy to finally put on that white dress and my favorite white shorts. :D

I am proud to say, today for the first time ever, I was NOT a procrastinator. I did everything that was due for the week in one day and can just chill out the rest of the week and into the weekend. I have a weigh in this week...not particularly excited about it considering my week last week, but all can do is try harder in the weeks to come :)

We celebrated my maternal grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. If I ever find someone to love me like my Grandaddy loves my Nana, I'll be set for life. He is the epidemy of the Brad Paisley song "Waitin' on a Woman".

<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-VvMhTxAJo6k/TbYtvscgaXI/AAAAAAAAAK4/MeTIVw9_4hM/s200/family%2B006-1.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5599713484089616754" />Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-57552524735384502742011-04-19T19:59:00.003-04:002011-04-19T20:14:47.336-04:00March and April...MIA<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-A3kCjc9mLA4/Ta4latTPOpI/AAAAAAAAAKo/Itra4ubDmNQ/s320/2011%2B176.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5597452527635217042" />
I know I know, I said I wasn't going to miss a weekly post...well I missed a few...but with two gym trips a day, full time school, some work, and trying to savage what tiny social life I have left...I just haven't had time. :( But here is an update! One week left in school and I'll be back on track!Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-20946106596882285232011-03-02T14:59:00.007-05:002011-03-02T15:23:58.210-05:005k and the future<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3hdon7nkhxY/TW6lAFZcuYI/AAAAAAAAAJo/YgZlOpjb_Nk/s200/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5579578409226123650" />

Saturday I ran/walked my 5k with my friend Logan (pictured here). Even though I didn't do as well as I wanted (43:05) I was still so proud of myself for finishing. There are more 5k's coming soon that we are excited about participating in.
I'm finding it easier and easier to fight temptations with food. Even if I want something, I have a greater satisfaction after I eat my healthy meal, rather than the one I really wanted at the time, and this thought keeps me going throughout the day. I've recently met another new workout buddy, which is making my workout routines much more enjoyable.
Sundays are my outside days, and this Sunday we went to the Indian Mounds for a little bit. Afterwards, I decided to give my dane <img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-yynR14QGRDo/TW6l-HhAKhI/AAAAAAAAAKA/ac3NWB4BMSM/s320/untitled%2B2.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5579579474946566674" />
a bath and go on a walk in the neighborhood. While we were on our walk, we came across another walker and her dog (not sure of the breed, but he was big) and the two hit it off. We exchanged numbers and are going to have puppy dates with our gigantic four legged friends. I am so glad he will have a friend his size to play with.
All in all I've had a pretty good couple of weeks, today is the two year anniversery of Michael Sparrow's death. He is someone I grew up with and have always looked up to. Sunday's don't seem the same without him, but I know he is in a better place and is probably singing and playing his guitar. He is an amazing person and still has an effect on the lives that he has touched over the years.<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-JHyqJhUGJhI/TW6lmFR1bOI/AAAAAAAAAJ4/w26sxhwku-E/s320/n4918778_43383124_1535.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5579579062029216994" />

Quote of the Month: "So wipe your tears and smile, don't feel the darkness, because we have sparked this, candles of flame...and I'm not afraid of death, because I know where God is, He's beside me, always everyday.."-Michael Sparrow (Sanctuary)Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-32700077848479790012011-02-21T09:20:00.003-05:002011-02-21T09:28:21.643-05:00putting on my dancing shoes<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 240px; height: 320px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IHWr4zBjx_4/TWJ2YdoUAlI/AAAAAAAAAJY/sn3ZGZGMW28/s320/2011%2B066.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5576149451280745042" />
My first week of working out with a trainer went great...however I am finding it hard to eat all of my 1200 calories in a day. It's so easy to over eat when you aren't paying attention, but when you are actually counting calories and charting it out it is SO difficult.
Saturday night I went to the "Big Dance" here in my hometown. I never....and I mean NEVER EVER wear high heels. Well I did this night and after all the fun of dancing and hanging with friends not only were my feet sore but holy cow my calf muscles ached! and they are still a little sore!
It was a blast though! Well one of my best friends got married yesterday, it was so good to see all my old friends from highschool and the beginning of college. She looked absolutely beautiful yesterday. Afterward we all went out, it was nice getting out, haven't been out in forever because of school.
I worked out yesterday with a trainer, thought I might die in the process. After the session though I was thinking about how much I could use the help. So I have talked to my mom and because I am a poor college student, she has decided to help me out and get me one. I am excited about it. I am trying to get ready for a 5k at the end of the month, I've got a ways to go. My goal at the moment is to get my mile under 10 minutes, right now I am at 11:30 minutes....I know I can do it though!Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-57238421254497482402011-02-09T20:29:00.004-05:002011-02-09T20:39:16.992-05:00Left in the Dark<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 133px; height: 200px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QSlqXnJ7oBs/TVNBF4gh2zI/AAAAAAAAAJA/jtG7VE8K5Dg/s200/162974_1538330294440_1120350052_31256079_4434984_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5571868733311408946" />

*Me and my work out partner in crime*
Its been forever, and I not much has changed, weight wise anyways. I have started doing a boot camp four days a week and see myself getting stronger but the weightloss isn't happening. Even though the weight is the same I have to admit I am very inspired by my followers to work harder and do everything I am capable of doing.
I have not been on here in a while and when I saw the new comments from new followers and how I inspired them....well it lit a spark in me. In the beginning I started my journey for me, myself, and I. However, I have gained a new reason to carry on and not give up...you all. After I remembered the people I inspire, I remembered I started this blog so that not only will I be the one holding myself accountable, but others will to.
No more delays, no more excuses, I will post results on a weekly basis. Every Saturday I will have a new post (hopefully with HAPPY news)---even if not though, my readers won't be left in the dark any longer! Thanks for all of your support!

Quote of the Month (and possibly of my life):

"When push comes to shove you taste what you're made of, you might bend til you break cause it's all you can take, on your knees you look up, decide you've had enough, you get mad, you get strong, wipe your hands, shake it off, then you stand."Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-52468572680070620442010-10-09T11:19:00.007-04:002010-10-09T11:49:02.531-04:00Awesome Updates- Been Awhile, I Know<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 158px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jHMjdrUNFZ8/TLCOjJw8l0I/AAAAAAAAAII/1yIB8K_uzIE/s200/44264_1431169895497_1120350083_31057620_2274761_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5526073477351380802" />

Hey readers! I know it has been awhile, but school kicked in and then I was training for my first 5k, just didn't have a moment to blog! But I am back now!

First 5k~
My mom was diagnosed with diabetes when she was about 16 years old. She is type 1 and on a pump. I heard about a Diabetes Awareness Event in Savannah, Ga, called Sunsplash, there are three races: Kayaking, Cycling, and a 5k. I thought it would be an awesome experience for me and my family to do together. We raised over $1,000 and I ran my first 5k in 27 minutes, which I was proud of!
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jHMjdrUNFZ8/TLCJWYCGyZI/AAAAAAAAAHw/GRpWT06U9Dc/s320/33677_1421021081783_1120350052_31036211_5019729_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5526067760285010322" />
That's me, my brother Forrest, and Dottie, my mom, at Sunsplash, we made shirts that said "Team Dottie" on the back, I drew our logo to put on the shirts. If you want to know more about the Diabetic Association you can go to: americandiabeticassociation.org

*weight loss*
UGH! I'M SITTING AT -70 lbs for about 2 months now! I completely changed my routine in the gym but I'm still sitting at that darn number! However, I have still gone down another dress size, I am hoping that the stand still is just because of muscle gain and not because I'm not doing enough! One of my friends got married last weekend and it was awesome to be in a dress that was below size 18! Size 16 was my dress size that was even taken in, the last time I was a bridesmaid, it was a size 24...so I wore that 16 with pride.
<img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jHMjdrUNFZ8/TLCLn4v9DCI/AAAAAAAAAH4/WIXdhvkQKy0/s320/40909_575782640442_63105699_33293032_4772397_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5526070260148276258" />

*what's next*
THE LOVE CLEANSE
One of my favorite people to follow on twitter is: @thesinglewoman. She has a blog as well that I read time to time at: http://www.examiner.com/single-women-in-nashville/mandy-hale. Her name is Mandy Hale and she is a huge inspiration to me. She recently wrote a blog about closing a book on a former relationship and about doing this thing called "The Love Cleanse". Not only is it about freeing yourself from past relationships and moving on, but also about finding yourself and becoming a newer, better, healthier you. I'm pretty excited to give it a try! You can read more about it at this link: http://www.examiner.com/single-women-in-nashville/the-time-of-my-life.

Quote of the Month: "It's a very simple method: Don't eat like that, work out like this, push yourself harder, make good choices and you will succeed"-Tough love for myself from myselfEliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-88106542906008941512010-08-24T09:13:00.004-04:002010-08-24T09:31:45.310-04:00Aggrivation and Frustration shouldnt come so quickly after hitting my goal!<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 112px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jHMjdrUNFZ8/THPJaN8Wy-I/AAAAAAAAAHg/zg_hyrQHMhY/s200/38520_1374276793205_1120350052_30934192_4657682_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5508968221460843490" /> *not gonna let it get me down*
So after hitting my goal, about a week and a half ago, I am already beginning to get frustrated. I don't know if its my crazy work schedule, even crazier school schedule, or starting P90x but I am literally going nowhere fast and adding 2 lbs. So have come to the conclusion that my body just isn't ready for the big X challenge and I need more time in the gym to get stronger before I can do this. The guy keeps telling me this workout isn't for everybody, and I feel like he is almost right. Its not for me right now. I know I can do this stuff eventually, but I'm just not there yet. Also, oddly enough, I miss the treadmill and elliptical like there is no tomorrow. So I'm hanging up my towel, but lifting my head. I'm constructing a new routine with allot of cardio, picking up new classes, and giving P90x another shot when I am ready to. Only 35 more pounds and I will be at the big 100. As i look back at my process I remember when I said only 35 more lbs and Ill be at 50. That gives me courage to keep going. Not setting a goal amount before has actually made this easier on me, I feel it has anyways. There isn't an expectation, just the fact that I know I'm at 65 and I have come this far so I know I can do 35 more. Please leave any suggestions, comments, or ideas. EVERYTHING is welcomed.Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-33553829761879235162010-08-14T19:17:00.003-04:002010-08-14T19:37:01.300-04:00took FOREVER but here it is! Minus 67 pounds from January 1, 2010, I met my goal of buying my first pair of skinny jeans...along with a new shirt and a belt that I got a MEDIUM in! It felt great! and the ones in the picture felt a little baggie and I actually went down another size to size 12...two more sizes and I will be a single digit size! So whats next??? P90x! I have been sitting at 67 for a while now so it is time for a change, although I wont be doing it every day, I have decided to do it 4 days a week, and continue doing Yoga on Wednesdays, Kick Boxing on Thursdays, and Cardio on Fridays... I will do weekly updates on how it is going. I will start P90x next Saturday!Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-8459574933264193132010-07-24T14:43:00.010-04:002010-07-24T15:05:49.599-04:00Losing LBS on Vacation AND Month 6 weigh in~<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jHMjdrUNFZ8/TEs4DEOTanI/AAAAAAAAAGE/8Y-PIrbx-Ks/s200/38242_1352924859420_1120350052_30882985_4823071_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5497549395460319858" />

Yes...that's right, I lost weight on Vacation. Went to the beach for a week and left 5 lbs there...how did I do this? I exercised every day, except Wednesday, and took some of my own food with me. The first day I went for a four mile bike ride and was sooo sore the next day I didn't think I would be able to work out again, however, my aunt happened to bring her Biggest Loser DVD <img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 220px; height: 220px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_jHMjdrUNFZ8/TEs3Xekn6lI/AAAAAAAAAF0/GyTykzoByGo/s320/unnamed.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5497548646619015762" /> which was suprisingly enjoyable. She and I did the tape together for the rest of the week until the last day when we ended up doing a 6 maybe 7 mile bike ride again. I was so happy to go on vaca and come back 5 lbs lighter.
<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_jHMjdrUNFZ8/TEs3tdZyKsI/AAAAAAAAAF8/BhLxHhSVIHM/s320/untitled.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5497549024262236866" />
Now for my 6 month Weigh in results: -65 lbs! Not having set a goal amount for myself in the beginning, I now believe it is safe to say that I can lose 100. It's not a want, it's a will. It's been hard but I have come along way. Working out is easier than ever, which means it's time to change it up again. I feel good. My friends and family have been nothing but supportive. I even have random strangers in the gym letting me know they see a difference. <img style="cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 180px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_jHMjdrUNFZ8/TEs5eaVl7oI/AAAAAAAAAGU/GoB9LVobccw/s320/35342_1359984195899_1120350052_30899928_1081235_n.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5497550964764569218" /> So next weekend my 6 month challenge is up and I will go buy my own skinny jeans...hopefully on sale :D and set a new goal for myself! I have been sooo busy with work and school....slacked a little at the gym this week but proud to say I have officially hit 60 lbs!!! I started using the elliptical instead of the treadmill this week, the treadmill has begun to start to hurt my knees and I don't feel like I'm making any progress on my 3k training. I plan to switch it out week to week. Also, I have started doing more free weights instead of only doing machine work. I have been doing it for a week and already can tell a difference in muscles on my arms, chest, and back.

I had a great day by the pool for July 4th, filled with a lot of R and R....and finger foods ;) what did everyone else do?Eliza Aeowynhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09218987208872777028noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8986323499446287339.post-72501880527203406982010-06-14T20:11:00.003-04:002010-06-14T20:21:53.771-04:00putting up the tissues, and getting on with itAfter sulking all weekend about my results from the blood work at the Doctor's office and not working out, I hit the gym at 4:30 this morning and stayed until about 6:45. I thought I would be exhausted all day from it but actually feel pretty good and am going to do it again tomorrow.

Today I worked on a new work out routine and food menu. My new menu has more food on that is based on a lower cholesterol diet rather than only thinking about the calories. My doctor told me when I look at a Nutrition sticker that I need to look at the entire thing, not just a couple of key points because they all affect each other. Why I never thought of this I will never know.

So now I am done with my pity party and ready to get back in the game. I have more confidence that I can do this than I did before. One more weigh in and less than two months until I buy my skinny jeans...looking forward to getting them and setting a new goal.

Quote: "Buy the ticket, take the ride." - Hunter S.
